Commercial Controller

Orkla Suomi brings high-quality and delicious food, snacks, and confectionery products to Finnish homes for both everyday and festive occasions. Our portfolio includes over 20 brands, such as Taffel, Panda, Felix, Grandiosa, Oolannin, and Kantolan. We produce chocolate and licorice products in Vaajakoski and potato products in Haraldsby, Åland. In 2023, Orkla Suomi employed approximately 440 people and had a turnover of 270 million euros. COMMERCIAL CONTROLLER

We are strengthening our finance organization with commercial expertise and are looking for a person to join our finance team in a new Commercial Controller role. The role involves diverse tasks supporting sales, marketing, and finance operations, as well as developing analytics functions.

We offer you

a versatile role within Orkla Suomi’s finance organization. You will be responsible for analyzing commercial operations and their impact on the development and results of Orkla Suomi’s business. You will work in active collaboration with Orkla Suomi’s finance and commercial organizations. Additionally, you will develop and support the profitability of commercial operations together with the commercial organization and the Business Controller team responsible for the business. You will participate in joint reporting development projects with Orkla Suomi’s finance organization.

The Commercial Controller is part of the finance organization and reports to the CFO but also works closely with other departments, especially the commercial department. The primary workplace is either in Turku or Vantaa, but it is also possible to work at the Jyväskylä or Haraldsby offices by agreement. We also offer flexible remote work opportunities. The role includes travel within Finland. International travel within the Baltics and Nordic countries is possible.

Key responsibilities and key activities:

• Collecting and consolidating monthly sales forecasts for both Orkla Suomi business units as part of the monthly closing process.
• Developing the sales and profit forecasting process in collaboration with Orkla Suomi’s Business Controller team and commercial operations.
• Participating in the S&OP process and portfolio development as a financial expert.
• Analyzing sales profitability, pricing, and discount structures.
• Participating in sales and pricing strategy work.
• Monitoring and analyzing the effectiveness of marketing investments.
• Actively developing Power BI financial reporting and other financial tools.

What will you need as a successful Commercial Controller at Orkla Suomi:

• A relevant higher education degree (e.g., MSc in Economics).
• Previous experience in similar Controller roles and a good understanding of the management and development of the Commercial Controller function.
• Experience working with ERP and BI reporting systems, and experience in developing reporting processes.
• Experience in FMCG business and knowledge of the retail market.
• Good collaboration skills and the ability to handle multiple simultaneous and demanding tasks within tight schedules. You are able to prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English and Finnish. Swedish language skills are an advantage.
