"The best thing about working in Orkla is clearly my colleagues. Everyone is positive and helpful, as well as being proficient."
- Isabel Bergly
What is your background?
I have a bachelor degree in Economics and Administration from TØH (now Business School in Trondheim / NTNU) and a master's degree in financial economics from NHH. In addition, I have had an exchange semester in Hawaii and in Copenhagen. Before I joined Orkla, I worked for 2 years as a Business Controller in another company.
What is your role at Orkla?
I work as a Business Controller in the Central Financial Functioning of the Financial Planning & Analysis (FPA) Department. We are responsible for the consolidated financial reporting to Orkla, providing ongoing financial support and advice to the business areas and contributing in budget and strategy processes. In addition, we design analyzes and decision material for the Group Management and the Board.
What is the best part of working here?
The best thing about working in Orkla is clearly my colleagues. Everyone is positive and helpful, as well as being proficient.
How does Orkla differ from other companies, especially within the FMCG sector?
Orkla takes corporate social responsibility seriously and focuses strongly on sustainable development, both through product launches and improvements to existing products / packages. In addition, Orkla has the entire value chain, which enables many different career paths.
What is your favorite product and why?
It's hard to choose only one! To get some balance there must be two; Smash! because it's incredibly good (and impossible to eat only one), and Möller's tran to bring it healthy.
How did you find the transition from being a new graduate/student to full-time employee at Orkla? What advice would you give to others starting out?
Be open and to say yes to as many opportunities as possible. And if you have time/capacity, ask your co-workers if there is anything you could do to help, that is a great way to be included in exciting projects!
