"The best thing about working in Orkla is probably the huge range of competencies and experiences that employees have which you can learn from. Here every day is an opportunity to learn something new. It's also great how much ownership and control you get over your portfolio regardless of the fact that Orkla is such a big company. "

- Aksel Landsem Mjøen

What is your background?
I have studied Strategy and Management at the Norwegian School of Economics and Economics and spent much of the time involved in student association and volunteer work.

What role do you have in Orkla?
I am a Brand Manager in the Wholesale division Orkla Foods Norway. I have various responsibilities ranging from innovation, product development and exciting customer projects.

What is the best part about working in Orkla?
The best thing about working in Orkla is probably the huge range of competencies and experiences that employees have which you can learn from. Here every day is an opportunity to learn something new. It's also great how much ownership and control you get over your portfolio regardless of the fact that Orkla is such a big company.

How does Orkla differ from other companies, especially within the FMCG sector?
Orkla stands out in many different ways. Especially in the way it gives you the opportunity to contribute and feel that your recommendations are taken seriously. Orkla treats all ideas and feedback openly and seriously which means that you can be quite new to the company but still contribute to Orklas continued growth and value.

How did you find the transition from being a new graduate/student to full-time employee at Orkla? What advice would you give to others starting out?
The biggest transition from being a full time student was the fact that the tasks I perform now have an impact. For instance making an analysis now gives me important insights that affect how my department acts. It’s not just writing results on a piece of paper, because you can see that things are put into actual use.
My biggest advise to people starting out their new careers is to relax and remember that they are employed because they have a great talent. The most important lesson I learned is that you can contribute in many different ways, and that the most important thing is to be brave and try!

What is your favorite product and why?
Vitamin Bears! I love the advert where the little bears stand on the kitchen counter and jump around - it is an important part of my morning routine. Click here to meet the Bears :)!
