About the Role

As Sustainability Director, you will act as the Orkla Snacks sustainability ambassador and be a member of the R&D and Sustainability management team. You will own and drive the sustainability agenda, translating strategy into actionable objectives, quantified targets, and impactful initiatives. You will be responsible for guiding the business towards environmentally sustainable practices, coordinating efforts across PortCo and business units, and ensuring compliance with local and European sustainability requirements.

Your Responsibilities

• Drive Orkla Snacks Sustainability agenda and strategy; translate strategy into objectives, targets, and initiatives.
• Communicate and address all sustainability matters within Orkla Snacks; serve as the primary contact for external parties.
• Coordinate and lead initiatives to achieve sustainability targets at both PortCo and BU levels (e.g., waste management, supplier assessment).
• Lead the Orkla Snacks Sustainability Team: team of Sustainability experts based in different countries within the Orkla Snacks markets.
• Lead capability building and development in sustainability across Orkla Snacks.
• Ensure continuous compliance with local and European regulatory and industry sustainability requirements like PPWR, EUDR, etc.
• Own and coordinate Orkla Snacks sustainability reporting; support supply chain and business units on internal and external reporting.
• Collaborate with the Sustainability Center of Excellence in Orkla ASA and other internal resources.
• Align sustainability targets with overall ESG requirements.
• Promote a high-performing, engaging, and collaborative culture in line with company values.

What You Bring

Education & Experience

• University degree, or equivalent, in a relevant field.
• High proficiency in English.
• At least 5 years of experience in sustainability and/or ESG work, with significant exposure to corporate communication and social responsibility.
• Experience in corporate sustainability and compliance, preferably within FMCG.
• Proven success in leading and managing sustainability projects and teams.
• Experience in a matrix organization and strong commercial understanding.

• Strong knowledge of sustainability principles, concepts, frameworks, and standards.
• Excellent communication skills; able to convey insights and plans to critical functions and management teams.
• Strategic leadership with the ability to set direction, drive results, and secure execution of strategy.
• Ability to build trust and manage complex stakeholder environments, adapting strategies to local markets.
• Strong analytical mindset and financial acumen, with proficiency in data analysis and leveraging data-driven insights.
