Orkla Snacks Supply Chain is on an ambitious journey, bringing together operational excellence, innovation, and sustainability under a new operating model. As we expand and evolve, we are investing in strategic roles to ensure our manufacturing assets are reliable, safe, and efficient, supporting some of the most recognised brands in the region.

Your Role and Impact

As an OT Engineer, you will work directly with our factories to help develop, standardize, and implement modern OT solutions. You will dive into technical details, collaborate with local OT and automation teams, and ensure our systems run smoothly and consistently across sites. Your work will focus on making our system & tools — such as MES, OEE, and IIoT platforms — easy to adopt and valuable in daytoday operations. You will be the technical partner and trusted advisor that helps factories solve problems, improve reliability, and streamline how we work across our manufacturing network.

Main Responsibilities

  •

    • Support factories in developing and implementing OT initiatives according to the digital transformation roadmap.

    • Maintain and evolve the OTDigital Core, ensuring improvements are practical, adoptable, and technically sound.

    • Ensure standardization and harmonization of processes, masterdata, and system setups (MES, IIoT platforms, print & apply systems).

    • Collaborate with Orkla Snacks IT & Orkla IT to ensure security, integrity, and availability of OT systems.

    • Support integrations between OT systems, analytics tools, and data pipelines, including troubleshooting and upgrades.

    • Track and analyze OT system performance, resolving issues proactively and driving improvements.

    • Deliver structured OT data to factory teams and business functions for production optimization, maintenance, and reporting.

Who We Are Looking For

This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the factory floor — a practical, solutionoriented OT professional who thrives on working sidebyside with technical teams. You combine solid technical understanding with a genuine interest in how systems and processes work in real production environments. You’re curious, collaborative, and comfortable explaining technical concepts in a clear and supportive way. You take pride in helping factories succeed, standardize their setups, and get real value out of shared OT tools driving change, influencing diverse teams, and promoting standardization. Most importantly, you enjoy solving problems together with others and making everyday operations run smoother, more reliable, and more consistent across our sites.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in OT management, industrial automation, or a similar technical leadership role within manufacturing, utilities, or critical infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of core manufacturing systems such as ERP, MES, SCADA, HMIs, and PLCs, with expertise in at least one area.
  • Experience in project management and planning, preferably within operational improvement projects.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies (IIoT, edge computing, predictive maintenance, AI) in an OT context.
  • Desirable: Experience with IIoT platforms such as Ignition from Inductive Automation, data management (SQL, databases), and managing OT projects or digital transformation initiatives.

Personal Attributes:

  • Driving towards results and resilience in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to get others on board and make effective decisions.
  • Strong collaboration skills, openness to cooperation with other functions.
  • Excellent communicator—able to describe insights, rationale, and plans across critical functions and management teams.
  • Adaptable and responsive to change, able to cope with pressure and setbacks.

Other Requirements:

  • Frequent travel required across our manufacturing sites.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.

What We Offer

With Orkla Snacks, you will have the opportunity to influence a business with leading brands and play a key part in shaping our operational excellence and digital transformation culture. We offer competitive terms, a strong leadership team, and an inclusive work environment where ideas are valued and realized.
