Main responsibilities - Overview

Responsible for the delivery of the people and organisation agenda in Healthspan Limited (Guernsey) and QualityCall Centre (UK)

Develop a business and performance-oriented culture and organisation
-
Initiate and run local people and culture initiatives that support the business and operation plans
-
Ensure that succession, talent, recruitment, leadership and organisational structure supports both business goals and strategy
-
Be the go-to person regarding local employment law, employee handbook and other key people matters for employees and managers
-
Responsible for the implementation of PortCo Orkla Health People policies and processes
-
Member of the PortCo Orkla Health People and Communications Network
-
With the support of the People Partner Director, responsible for the leadership of local People team members and the delivery of People services locally.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Head Office Pay and Benefits
-
Prepare monthly reports for outsourced payroll processing.
-
Strong understanding of Guernsey employment legislation and payroll implications
-
Responsible for monthly pension reports for the provider.
-
Create and develop salary and payroll reports as required.
-
Act as liaison between employer and payroll provider.
-
Collate benefit in kind records.
-
Undertake the timely completion of all pay and benefit exercises including pay review and coordinate with OH Reward & Analytics Manager regarding benchmarking.

Coordinate the checking, completion and return of employee benefit reports (medical, life assurance and pension).
Head Office Recruitment and Workforce Planning
-
Lead strategic approach workforce planning and budget consideration to deliver growth ambitions.
-
Undertake appropriate benchmarking and local/global approvals for recruitment.
-
Responsible for recruitment coordination and oversight of the company’s applicant tracking system.
-
Support line managers with the preparation and development of Head Office job adverts and job descriptions where appropriate.
-
First point of contact for candidates, recruitment agencies and hiring managers.
-
Assist hiring managers with shortlisting and selection.
-
Manage the company’s Career Inbox, with the support of People Coordinator.
-
Produce accurate offer letters and contracts in a timely manner.
-
Ensure pre-employment screening activities are timely and completed in line with policy.
Learning & Development
-
Work with People Coordinator (UK) to identify and plan training and development needs within the company.
-
Work with employees and managers to identify training courses or other blended solutions and approaches such as coaching, e-Learning, personal development and training programmes.
-
Coordinate the HQ training and development plan by tracking training requests in line with budget.
-
Coordinate and deliver effective induction, work experience, internship and management shadowing programmes, ensuring that individuals receive a broad spectrum of experiences.
-
Continually assess, develop and improve training methods through regular reviews.
-
Contribute to the implementation of access to the Orkla e-learning suite and coordinate with OH L&D Manager regarding potential opportunities.
-
Keep up to date with new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning.
-
Support annual PDP and lead on activation of progression window processes.
Population Management & Immigration
-
Responsibility for ensuring work permit requirements for employees and candidates are compliant with legislation.
Data Management
-
Maintenance of Employee records and management information in line with GDPR best practice.
-
Manage the HR database and HR systems, liaising with staff and line management as required, e.g. holiday and sickness records, staff updates, reviews and changes.
-
Work together with People Coordinator to prepare HR documents for employees in relation to employee life cycle events, such as pay increases, maternity leave, promotions, etc.
Generalist Support
Be responsible for an efficient and high standard of administration and coordination for the following areas:

Starters and leavers, including induction and probation

Benefits provision (medical, life assurance and pension)

Absence management
-
Training and development
-
HR and systems reporting and statistics
-
Maternity/paternity/adoption leave
-
Assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures.
Other

Represent People Team in daily 9am stand up with Healthspan CEO, maintaining communications with People Partner Director and wider team.

Be main point of contact for employee relation activities/support to line managers.

Contribute to an effective performance management culture including advising on capability.

Produce and provide reports to meet business needs as and when required
-
Plan and initiate People projects in line with strategic aims and objectives.
-
Support proactive initiatives to support employee engagement and wellbeing, as measured by monthly internal engagement survey; Winningtemp.

Minimum 5 years’ HR experience, level 5 CIPD qualified or equivalent, with knowledge of Guernsey employment and population management law. Knowledge of UK employment legislation would be beneficial.
