Orkla Health has its own sales organizations in the Nordics, Baltics, Poland and Spain, and also exports a substantial share of its business to outside markets where Orkla Health International’s mandate is to establish and grow sustainable and profitable brand positions for Möller’s in the Omega 3 segment and Jordan in the Oral Health segment. Both brands are well established in over 30 markets worldwide, mainly in Europe and Asia.

 

The Orkla Health International sales team is looking for a 11-month temporary replacement for one of its Area Sales Manager. The contract would ideally start on August 19th, 2024 and finish on June 18th, 2025.

 

This temporary position will be a fantastic opportunity for the chosen candidate, to learn all she/he needs to know about managing external distributors and growing brands in an international setup.

 

 

Area Sales Manager, Orkla Health International

 

The Orkla Health International (OHI) sales team sells Orkla Health products outside the home markets where Orkla Health has its own sales organizations. The OHI sales revenues account for about 10% of Orkla Health total revenues and are now in focus to accelerate even more.

 

The role of the Area Sales Manager, Orkla Health International, is to manage our distribution partners in specific markets. You would build strategies hand in hand with OHI partners that ensure long term growth. The Area Sales Manager sets KPI’s and drives the implementation of these strategies, manages contingency when adjustments are required. The Areas Sales Manager is the face of OHI and nurtures external relationships and develop long-term trust.

 

OHI will give the Area Sales Manager freedom in performing the tasks at hand and support and invest in the suggested initiatives for growth. In this role you will be able to see the impact of your contribution and feel both ownership and pride. OHI has a renewed focus on markets outside the domestic ones, and it might open further career opportunities for the right candidate.


Main responsibilities:

  • Set vision and create marketing plans yearly hands in hands with distribution partners
  • Set KPIs and support distribution partners in order to implement marketing plans
  • Adjust plans during the year according to contingency, or if KPIs are not met
  • Support the sourcing and back-office team in OHI to make sure sales target are achieved
  • Adapt the central sales and marketing assets to fit local requirements
  • Pilot the pricing and profitability of both distribution partners and trade
  • Collect and channel pertinent competitive information to the central marketing team
  • Build long term trust with the distribution partners to maximize their focus on OHI brands
  • Find alternative distribution partners and manage transition in case of conflict
  • Seek for new distribution opportunities in new channels/segments/geographies

 

Experience and skills:

  • 3 year minimum professional experience with a successful track record
  • experience in marketing and/or sales of consumer goods will be preferred
  • experience with international projects or exposure to different culture will be appreciated
  • excellent communication skills and empathetic skills to adapt in a multicultural environment
  • excellent English language skills, any foreign languages are extra assets
  • understanding of the concept of revenue sharing in a distribution setup
  • understanding of the concept of marketing mix in a consumer goods setup
  • advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills, at ease with any new IT solution

The Area Sales Manager, Orkla Health International is a full-time employment and reports directly to the Sales Director EMEAA, Orkla Health International. The workplace is either Oslo, Norway, or Copenhagen, Denmark, with an expected 4 days of international travel per month.
