About the position
Orkla Food Ingredients (OFI) is executing an ERP strategy with the ambition to include all business units into one shared solution. The solution chosen to support the strategy is Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Supply Chain Management (D365FO) and currently the solution is operational in 6 countries, covering 17 sites and accounting for app. 25% of OFI total sales. Additionally OFI has developed a solution for shared Product Information Management (PIM) also to be implemented across all relevant OFI companies.

The position as Master Data Steward is new and will be organized as a central position within a smaller but growing digital team at OFI HQ. The Master Data Steward will be cooperating and collaborating closely with both local business stakeholders and central ERP solution architects (being responsible for the technical ERP solution). OFI HQ is in Oslo, but both central resources as well as OFI operational business units are spread across Europe and the Master Data Steward can work from a hybrid position, though being willing and able to travel between OFI locations.

Overall objectives
Both the OFI D365FO and the OFI PIM strategies are based on shared environments (shared technical instances) with global master data being operationalized locally. The chosen approach is favorizing strong intercompany capabilities and as such supporting the OFI business model but is also requesting strong and effective governance structures to ensure good data quality, and transparent and efficient business processes.

With D365FO and PIM as a starting point, OFI is also ambitious to support the organisations to make more data driven decisions and to execute business strategies in favor of value creation and operational efficiency.

The Master Data Steward will be managing the overall master data responsibility and must perform a variety of tasks ranging from strategic/tactical to hands-on/operational:
 

• Facilitating and executing a global master data strategy process
• Managing a global safe-guarding mandate ensuring quality in shared/global master data
• Engaging actively in D365FO and PIM implementation projects as well as in ongoing operational objectives
• Participating in creating and maintaining global/shared master data in D365FO and PIM

The Master Data Steward should be the go-to expert for the company with anything in the domain of master data; being responsible for assuring quality and trust in the data, creating standard definitions and procedures for the organization to follow, and maintaining a consistent use of data across the organization.

Responsibilities and tasks

• Establishing and continuously maintaining/improving the future master data governance set-up for OFI
• Defining and implementing master data structures respecting both global and local perspectives
• Facilitating and supporting the set-up and continuous maintenance of master data in D365FO and PIM
• Supporting and actively engaging into D365FO and PIM implementation projects on master data preparations, migrations etc
• Supporting the operational BUs in data driven initiatives in favor of value creation and operational efficiency
• Leading the way and cooperating with data analysts etc. in working with data extracts, analysis, cleaning, and migrations
• Engaging with OFI data harmonization initiatives across IT platforms (ERP, CRM, PIM etc.)
• Proactively identifying areas where master data improvement initiatives are required
   

Skills and qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working with master data management preferably from a business operational perspective
• Motivated to design and structure processes and policies from scratch
• Ability to work structured based on a solid framework within master data
• Strong communicative skills, and ability to explain the importance and value of master data management to stakeholders across various functions
• Ability to take responsibility for progress and managing the balance of thinking strategically and at the same time being hands-on/operational
• Basic understanding or experience working with data warehousing / business intelligence
• Experience working with D365FO is an advantage, but no prerequisite
• Good understanding of a company’s application landscape and related data flows with regard to core systems such as ERP, CRM, and PIM
• Fluent in spoken and written English, thrives in an international environment
