Head of Procrurement in Business Unit OFI S&D

OFI is the leading supplier of bakery ingredients in the Nordic and Baltic regions, in addition to holding growing positions in selected countries in Europe. The business area has sales and distribution companies in 21 countries. Artisanal and industrial bakeries account for around 66% of sales. Approximately 20% are direct-to-consumer sales under well-known brands such as Odense Marcipan, Mors Hjemmebakte, Kronjäst, Bakkedal and Naturli’. The remaining 14% are sales of ice cream ingredients and accessories.

 

 

 

The role

To reflect the increased focus on procurement synergies within Orkla Food Ingredients (OFI) and Orkla a new coordinator role within OFI Sales and Distribution (S&D) has been established. Being the Coordinator of Procurement in Business Unit OFI S&D, you will be responsible for the coordination of strategic procurement project across the OFI S&D units and for securing a close link between procurement and the S&D businesses.

 

The group of S&D companies within the Food Ingredients business area in Orkla, consists of business units located across the Scandinavian, Baltics and Central Eastern European countries. With companies such as KåKå AB Sweden, CBP A/S Denmark, OFI Baltics, PGD Poland, Condite Finland, and Ekvia Slovakia in the S&D group and yearly operation revenues of more than 3,5 billion NOK, the units represent a vital go-to-market organisation for OFI and Orkla.

 

Critical success factors in this new position will be the ability to utilize the Orkla leverage and supplier market knowledge to support the S&D business with competitively priced goods in qualities requested by our B2B end customers. 

 

During your start up, your focus will be to understand the business in the different OFI S&D geographies and to implement processes and governance in line with Orkla Group Procurement (OGP). A key deliverable is to set an ambitious strategy for the area, entailing both cost improvements and supporting the S&D topline development.  The position is both part of our local Business Unit Group and the Orkla Group Procurement organization and will have its fixed reporting line to Senior Vice President OFI S&D, Thore Svensson, and report in the matrix structure to Vice President OGP, Torben Vestergaard.

 

Main task

  • Represent OFI S&D in OGP
  • Team management/coordination and coaching the three regional heads of procurement for OFI S&D
  • Participate in Opportunity Assessment and provide Strategic category teams with input on brand/business unit strategy, business unit management input and risk policy
  • Represent procurement in S&D Steering Group
  • Secure and develop best practice within S&D price management
  • Ensure updated spend overview per S&D business unit
  • Plan, prioritize and communicate annual procurement projects
  • Following up on procurement plans- and projects relevant for the S&D business units and securing timely implementation.
  • Conduct efficient project resource planning across the S&D procurement team and secure PD-/ Quality- and supply chain resources to succeed with project implementation
  • Maintain dialogue with strategic suppliers on innovation, specification improvements and cost efficient in/out-sourcing opportunities
  • Input and sign-off on risk documents, and an escalation point on claims, crisis, supplier defaults
  • Represent S&D procurement in projects regarding mergers, sales and exclusivity agreements, and footprint projects
  • Represent OFI S&D business units in the OGPs work on responsible and sustainable sourcing

The position will require some travel activities, up to 50 days per year. Preferred location is OFI S&D HQ in Lomma (Malmö) Sweden with the optional location at OGP hub in Malmö or Stockholm.

 

Your qualifications and profile

  • Min. 4-8 years’ experience of sourcing, project management and team management
  • Master´s degree or equivalent
  • Proven leadership track record
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated capability for complex change management
  • Team orientation and ability to lead and motivate others in formal/informal leadership role
  • Documented commercial skills
